I have had a lot of types of writing. I have had creative, narrative, anaylasis, persuassive, and a lot of other types of writing. I have done all of these. We didn’t get to choose. It was decided. In creative writing, you have to be creative in what you write about and how you presnt it. In a narrative and persuassive well that is basically about you. Anaylasis is anaylazing what you read. The differences is the way you present it and the kinds of words you use. The similaities are the writing fromat. That is all I can think of. In creative writing, we had to use a lot of different formats, but other than that, nothing. The process that I have for writing a blog is just to write what I have to write about and do it well. I go through what I will write in my head and then I type it. Sometimes I do it before and sometimes I do it as I go. That is what writing I have done! 🙂

The effects of a liberal arts education are all the things that you learn. You will learn life-long skills. You will learn writing, reading, communication, and many more skills. All of these things come into play when looking and applying for jobs. Employers want people who can write, read, communcate, and have good thinking skills. It will make it more helpful if you have these skills. Those are the effects that I see in a liberal arts education. 🙂

I am not that big of a reader. I do not really read on my own. It is really hard for me to find something that I enjoy. I enjoy reading about sports, animals, nature, music, and things I can relate to. However, it is hard to find things in those categories that are interesting let alone finding one. So I do not really read on my own. I would much rather watch the movie. It is also easier for me to understand it if I see it. I read differently when I pick it, when I read, then when I am assigned to read. I am more interested in it when I pick it and I just read and try to be interested in something that I am assigned. That is my reading experience and thought. 🙂

I believe that my identity is very complicated. It is even hard for me to understand my identity. The way I look at it is who I am. In that case I am helpful, nice, fun to be around, funny, bright, talented, and all around me. All of those are part of my identity and all play into who I waht to be as a person. Some of these things change depending on how I feel. They all come together to form me. They change during the week depending on the day. You couldl be nice on day and mean the next day. It can change, but we all have two sides to who we are. All parts of your identity comes together to make one great person. YOU!

I have learned a lot in college. For example, only some teachers will be willing to help you. If you think all your teachers will be willing to help you are wrong. Some classes you will love and others you will not.I have also learned that it is ok to ask for help. You are not the only one who had trouble. And time management; wow! I have had to learn that too. It is hard, but you get used to it. What I have learned about life, is that it is not always fair. Some things will go your way and some things won’t. There is a way to look at life as an adventure. You just need to find the adventure for you. Life isn’t something you can plan it just happens. Life is a lot like college too. What I have learned about myself; well a lot. I have learned that I have to live life to the fulliest and not be the careful girl I used to be. Somethings yes, I have to be careful about. That doesn’t mean everything. I also have to find out who I want to be and make it happen. I have learned that if I want to be a good friend, helpful, outgoing, fun, and all around good person then that is what I will try to do. I found out that who I was, was not the kind of person that I wanted to be. I have to stick up for myself and also ask for help if I need it. I am also no the only one with obstacles. Everyone has them. My commandments have not changed for me. I will try my best to follow all of them. Make the best of life, look on the bright side, and don’t forget to HAVE FUN!

When I was reading this I did not really understnad it at first. I was like I do not know what you are really talking about. So I had to re-read it. Now I will write my letter.

Dear Booth,

   I do and do not agree with you. I agree that kids should write, but not one every week. The kids in India I feel bad for. I beleive that you should get graded on grammar and sentence structure. It also depends on how well the writing is put together. Now I know everyone is not a good writer, but there are somethings that teachers just assume when they shouldn’t. If kids need help with writing they should ask for help, however, some kids are afriad to. Writing every once in a while is good. Just not every week. It would get too frustrating. So I do agree in the sense of writing every once in a while because it helps kids get better at it. I do not agree with writing every week becasue kids will just get frustrated and will lose intrest and will stop caring.

Liberal arts is a great program in my opinion. It gives you the chance to go outside of your major and do something just for fun. It also helps you to not only learn book smarts, but also life smarts. It is wonderful that Mside has this program because it really helps you with the stress to have something fun. That is what Liberal Arts mean to me!:)

I chose Morningside College for a lot ot reasons. One of the factors I had to look at was how far away I would be from home. Mside is 8 hours away. That is really far for me. However, when I vistited the school and met the golf coach I felt ok. Everyone was very nice and helpful and the coach was amazing. He is a lot like my high school coach and I love that. Even though I am far from home, I feel comfortable with my coach when I am golfing and the teachers seem really nice and helpful. So I feel like I can go to them for anything. That helps a lot. So I chose Mside for those reasons and many more. However, I don’t want to post those reasons becasue they are personal. Go Mustangs! 🙂

1. I think someone would keep a journal just to get away from everything and just have some “me” time and record things that happen for memories. Some advantages would be remembering what happened to you when you were younger to remember the good times and the bad times. 2. Some differences of having a journal to yourself and going online with it is the fact that you have to whatch what you say. You won’t have privacy or anything. It is kind of like facebook. 3. I think blogs are a current craze because you can write your opionion about everything and decide whether or not you want people to see it or not. 4. I think that the author would think back to his experiences and see if he thinks wny differntly and/or would have done anything differently. I think he would feel good and happy to remember college.

Techniques that I have used in the past for time management include a lot of different things. For example, I always write down my assignments and do them as soon as I can. Usually I do them the same day I get the assignment. If I get an assignment on Friday, I either do it Friday or Saturday. I like to get all of my assignments done, therefore I have free time do have fun or just relax. Some things that have worked well for me has been to write everything down. Do not put it off and say “oh I will do it later.” We all know how that goes. It rarely gets done. Something might come up such as your computer crashes or you have something else to do that is more important. Things that have not worked for me has been to put it off. I have often forgot to do an assignment. So I have learned to write everything down and do it as soon as you get it. My goals for this semester is that I will not fall behind and be sure to ask for help and sak to make sure I am not missing anything that needs to be turned in as well as writing things down and doing the assignment as soon as I get it.
