Let the chaos begin!

It looks like Morningside College has a friend in a high place. Former Governor Terry Branstad visited Morningside College October 11th, to drum up publicity for the end of the campaign. The conference was small, rather intimate and the governor was able to answer all questions. He however made it a point to concentrate on an rather important topic: Education.

Governor Branstad said firmly “I am a friend of private education, and education in general”. Governor Branstad said that he would assert his power to make sure that all teachers are board certified, and to expand the Iowa tuition grant. He also mentioned that Chet Culver did an over all budget cut of ten percent – that took away from school funding not only in college but as well as in private schools. The governor was on fire, a crowd pleaser, and even received a standing reception, but his crowd left a lot to be desired.

“I felt as though there were numerous idiots in the crowd. If you don’t know how the system works, you should listen so ya learn more.” Said senior Grace Horner. This is exactly why Terry Branstad needs to be elected – he’s a friend of education, and apparently, our crowds need to be more educated.
