Journalism not obsolete–At least, not quality journalism

Debates linger in the communication world about whether or not journalism is, and has been, dead. As someone who pays close attention to the news and how easy it is to access it, it’s hard to disagree. But what about good journalism? And by good journalism, I mean well-thought-out, well-written opinions on subjects that are relevant to everybody’s lives. I don’t think that’s dead, and I don’t think that every will die. People need to read opinions and analysis from people who’ve been able to investigate closely and objectively–things that they don’t have the time to do. I don’t want to hear about Donald Trump’s most recent interview from my far left and openly racist buddy from high-school. Is he a journalist? Yes, but journalists like him die quickly. However, the very good do NOT die young in the journalism world.
