The Hindman Hobbs Center was never built to be used as a bonafide “gym” — it was built for use as a recreation center, as well as a practice facility for several sports. Allee Gym — now the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center/Allee Gym — has been the primary gym facility on campus since 1949 — and the Hindman Hobbs Center opened in 1989.

The library was the gym back in the old days. The Hindman Hobbs center was built around 1988.

I could be way off. If I recall correctly, Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center (the library) was once where Mside hosted its basketball games.
